OVERVIEW

The new CIEH Level 1 in Health and Safety is run as a half-day course. The qualification is designed to meet the needs of those who are entering the workplace for the first time, either as part of a work experience programme or at the start of employment. It will also benefit those who are starting a new job – as part of an induction programme.

AIMS

To provide an awareness of key health and safety issues and the part they should play in keeping themselves and others free from harm.

COURSE CONTENT

The qualification covers the following topics:

• Introduction to health and safety
• The importance of health and safety in the workplace
• Hazards and risks
• Workplace conditions
• Workplace procedures

ASSESSMENT

Delegates are assessed by a multiple-choice test of 15 questions.
