Implementing The Health and Safety Executive’s “Health and Safety Made Simple” into Education and Work Based Learning
OVERVIEW
This 1 day Workshop is intended to help introduce, refresh and update knowledge and application of Health and Safety. It will enable work experience staff, assessors, vetting and monitoring officers to gain an understanding of responsibilities.
New initiatives by the current government have led the HSE to issue “Health and Safety Made Simple” – The basics for your business.
AIMS
To develop the knowledge and awareness of delegates to assist them in interpreting health and safety standards in the workplace. By being better informed their selves they will be better placed to play their part in ensuring the safety of the learner.
ASSESSMENT
The course concludes with a multi choice test that is for information and development purposes to assist delegates’ personal and professional development. All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
COURSE CONTENT
The comprehensive course content is based on the direction given by the recent government initiative “Common Sense, Common Safely” and introduces delegates to the HSE’s “Health and Safety Made Simple” publication.
Delegates will:
- Examine all the basics of a safe, and healthy workplace
- Receive a checklist of basic documents and procedures required
- Use Case Studies and DVDs to examine practically the needs of workplaces
- Be shown how to apply these requirements to ensure employers are aware of their legal, regulatory and contractual duties
- Receive up to date information from the HSE and/or related bodies on developments in health and safety requirements
DELIVERY
This very instructive 1-day course aims to encourage delegates to apply the content of the course to the practical requirements of completing and maintaining records re the workplace and/or learner health and safety.
