Improving Health & Safety Performance and Compliance

Overview

A Flexible Consultancy programme allowing business to undertake an evaluation of their health and safety performance with the objective of improving compliance up to OHSAS 18001 standards.

Aim

  1. To benchmark the businesses current performance and compliance
  2. Introduction of effective policy, procedures and arrangements to meet identified deficiencies.
  3. To establish audit and review protocols in order to assist internal and external evaluation.
  4. Promote wider compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Assessment

All evaluations are benchmarked against HSG 65 and OHSAS 18001 standards. Companies participating in consultancy programmes may choose to apply for external certification to OHSAS 18001 as recognition of their compliance. DTD Training auditors will assist in this as part of the process.

Content of Consultancy Programme

  • Initial Audit of Health and Safety compliance
  • Review of all policies, procedures and arrangements against all specified legislative and regulatory standards
  • Reporting of audit and evaluation to facilitate management process
  • Drafting of replacement policies, procedures and arrangements
  • Establishment of audit, review, monitoring and inspection procedures.

Delivery

Consultancy programmes are flexible to meet the size and nature of the business, as well as the requirements of external evaluation, which may involve HSE, Local Authorities, Education Inspectorates (ESTYN and ALI) in addition to LSC’s and WAG/DCELLS
